The local picture
Prince Edward Island's small-business funding leans toward two things BBN builds: getting found and getting modern. Innovation PEI's Small Business Assistance puts up to 50% toward professional fees and a first-year marketing push, to a maximum of $5,000 in year one, and its Export Enhancement and Diversification Fund covers up to 60% of eligible export costs, to a maximum of $32,000. On the digital side, E-tools for Exporting reimburses up to 65%, to $15,000, on the exact work that grows sales online: SEO, paid advertising and e-commerce.
For storefronts, the Downtown Charlottetown Façade Improvement Program reimburses 50% of eligible exterior costs, up to $4,000 per façade, and it funds signage, awnings, windows, doors and accessibility work. Intake is open to October 31, 2026, and it pays after the work is inspected, so the application goes in before the first dollar is spent.
