Business upgrades in LaSalle
Straight answer for LaSalle businesses: the Town currently has no community improvement plan grant for storefronts or signage. LaSalle's Economic Development Plan recommends creating one for the Town Centre, but until Council adopts a CIP, there is no municipal grant to apply for. What LaSalle businesses do have is the full range of Ontario programs (Save on Energy installs and retrofits, Enbridge incentives for gas equipment, OCI digital grants for qualifying retailers) plus the region's Starter Company Plus cycle. We screen those honestly and design upgrades that stand on business merit.
The local picture
LaSalle is one of the region's fastest-growing communities, with a retail and service economy spread along Malden Road and the new Town Centre rather than a single historic main street. That geography is part of why a traditional main-street CIP has not existed here.
The Town's Economic Development Plan identifies a Community Improvement Plan for the LaSalle Town Centre as a recommended tool, including potential façade restoration incentives. Recommended is not adopted: no program, boundary or budget exists yet, and nobody should plan a project around one.
In practice, LaSalle projects proceed the way most good upgrades do anywhere: on their own merits, with provincial and utility incentives screened where the project genuinely fits. A LaSalle restaurant replacing kitchen ventilation or a shop modernizing its point of sale has real options today; they just are not municipal ones.

Frequently asked questions
Does LaSalle have a façade or sign grant like Windsor's?
No. As of June 2026 LaSalle has no community improvement plan grants. The Town's Economic Development Plan recommends creating a CIP for the Town Centre, but nothing is adopted. If that changes, our funding list will show it after we verify it with the Town.
So is funding screening pointless for a LaSalle business?
No, it just skips the municipal layer. Energy programs, the OCI digital grants and federal options apply in LaSalle like anywhere in Ontario, subject to each program's rules and approval. The screening tells you honestly which are worth your time, and when the answer is none, we say that too.
